Orientation Programme B.Com Students was organized by the Department of Commerce on 08.11.2018. Mrs. V. Padmavathy – The Head of The Department gave a detailed explanation about even semester curriculum and its credit to the students of B.Com (B&I) in the Seminar Hall. And for I B.Com Honours Dr.K.Archunan, Vice Principal, SLCS gave a detailed explanation about even semester syllabus and subject credits in their Class room. Dr.S.Gurupriya, Ms.B.Shanmugapriya, B.Nagarathinam and R.Damotharan – Asst. Professors conducted the Ice Breaking Session.

Cuentas Association of Commerce Department celebrated Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam’s Birthday on 15-10-2018. The programme commenced with prayer followed by Welcome address delivered by Ms.Selvameena, of II B.Com. Competitions like Drawing, Essay writing and Phrase writing was conducted. Also a debate was conducted on the topic ‘youngsters can come for politics or Not’, Dr.K.Archunan, Vice Principal, was the chief guest. Students of B.Com (B&I) and B.Com (Honours) actively participated. Vote of thanks was given by Ms.Anjana of II B.Com (B&I). The program ended with National Anthem.

As part of academic performance, on 06th September, 2018, Commerce Department students had done a programmes in  Shayamalavani Community Radio, Mr.Gokulnath, Mr.Vijaypravin & Mr.Hariharam of  II B.Com, given a detail explanation about Prime Minister Janthan Yojana in this plan who are the beneficiaries who can avail this, interest rate of the account and loan details about PMJanthan Yogana.

Ice Breaking session for I B.Com  Students was organized on 14^th August, 2018 at seminar hall, by the Department of Commerce on 14-08-2018. The programme commenced with Prayer followed by Welcome Address delivered by Mrs. V. Padmavathy – The Head of the Department and the Key note was delivered by Dr.K.Aruchunan – Vice  Principal of SLCS.   Dr.(Mrs).S.Gurupriya and Ms.B.Shanmugapriya – Asst. Professor conducted the Ice Breaking Session. The Second and Final year Students of the Dept. of Commerce were the organizers for the programme. The programme ended with the Vote of Thanks.

As part of Independence Day Celebration on 14^th August, 2018, Commerce Department students did programmes in  Shyamalavani,  Community Radio. Ms. Anjana of II B.Com gave a speech about the significance of Independence , Ms.Karthiga of  II B.Com recited a poem about our nation and Ms.Mohana Yazhini of II B.Com  sang a patriotic song in the remembrance of our national leaders,  those who  strove very hard for the freedom of our nation.

The Department of Commerce conducted Viva-voce examination on 09^th August, 2018 in Seminar Hall for the Final year B.Com students, they had presented their Internship training report through Powerpoint presentation in seminar Hall, the panel members are Mrs. V.Padmavathy, HOD, Dr..S.Gurupriya and Ms.B.Shanmugapriya, Assistant Professor. Dr. P. Saravanan Principal and Dr. K. Archunan, Vice-Principal examined and encouraged the students.

 The Department of B.Com (B&I) organized an Orientation programme on “Company Secretaryship” on July 20, 2018. MR.T.Raja – Office In charge and CA MR.Ganesan secretary from “The Institute  of Company  Secretaryship of  India” had an interactive session with the students of B.Com First Year and Second Year. They educated them about the Corporate Secretaryship program and its opportunity. Many students conveyed their willingness to join Corporate Secretaryship course.
