Department of Animation conducted 13^th Board of Studies Meeting on 18^th October 2019 (Friday) at the Animation Academic Lab-1 at 10.30AM. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department welcomed the gathering and gave a presentation about the importance of the syllabus. Mr. P. Kishore Kumar explained about the skeleton of the entire syllabus. Mr.Shanmuga Velayudham, Assistant Professor, Department of Visual Communication, Jamal Mohammed College, Trichy and Mr. Arun Subash, Asst. Professor, Department of Visual Communication, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Krishnankovil were invited as the Subject Experts. Mr. Balashyameshwaran, was invited as the Industry Expert and Mr. Keerthi Vasan as the Alumni member. All the members gave their valuable suggestions and recommendations about the syllabus. Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, Principal, Dr.S.Priya, Dean-Academics and Mrs.Suganthi Hepzibha, IQAC Coordinator also attended the meeting. Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, coordinator, Mr.M.Purushothaman, and Mr.M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim were the members of the meeting and they made all the arrangements.

Department of Animation, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science & 2ADPro organised the Valedictory Function of the Training Programme: Extravaganza 2K19 on 26^th September 2019 at the College Premises. Dr. B. Ramamoorthy, Principal, SLCS, Dr. R.L. Ramnath, IQAC-Advisor were the guests of honour. Mr. Ramesh, Head of Training Divisions and Trainers Mr. Murali, Ms. Chitra and Ms. Malathy were present. Mr. P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head, Department of Animation gave an inspiring speech for the students about the Industry. The students exhibited their talents like Silambam, Dance, Mime, Music, Song and conducted games like Tuck of war, Biscuit Game etc. The Students & Trainers shared their experience about the Training Period and the Demo reels of the I, II and III year students were shown. All the faculty members and Students of I & II Animation were also present. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr. Gurubaran of III year B.Sc Animation.

Department of Animation organized a Field Trip to Kodaikanal for 3 days (from 18^th – 20^th Sep 2019). Around 47 students from the I year Animation were accompanied by our college Faculty members Mr. P. Thirunavukkarasu, H.O.D – Animation, Mr. V. Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator – Animation, Mr. M. Abdul Aziz Hakkim, Instructor – Animation and Ms. Sumathi – Warden.

The Department organized this field trip to develop the student’s Creativity and learn about the Natural Landscapes. On these three days of the trip, the students visited places like Silver falls, Shenbaganur Museum, Coaker’s Walk, Kurinji Andavar Temple, Pillar Rock, Pine forest and the Lake. This trip has been very effective for the students to develop their knowledge and Mr. P. Thirunavukkarasu also did a Landscape painting of a tourist spot. Mr. Chenthil Kumar taught about the importance of lighting and Composition in Photography, which shed light on students to gain knowledge in their respective areas. Students have enjoyed the trip as an experiential learning and gave a positive feedback.

The Department of Animation conducted Peer Teaching for the I year students of B.Sc Animation. The peer teaching was held on 10.09.2019. In this session, Ms. P. Uma from III Year B.Sc Animation explained about Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) in the Graphic Design Industry and also highlighted the SOP terms related to Graphic Design in the Advertisement field. She also shared her experience about the training of 2ADPro, A MNC Company from Chennai. The Peer teaching session came to an end as an experiential learning and I year students gained positive impact.

A study cum field visit was arranged for the 1^st Year Animation students to Alagarkovil on 25.07.2019 to enhance their knowledge in Drawing skills and Photography. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, H.O.D – Animation, Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator – Animation, Mr.P.Kishore Kumar, Instructor – Animation, Mrs.N.Selvi, Assistant Professor – Department of Tamil accompanied the 46 Students. Students were taught the nuances of Photography and Drawing by the staff members. They practices drawing and sketched live portraits.

On 24^th July 2019, DP Roy Choudhury Association in Department of Animation celebrated its 3^rd Annual meet. Ms.Subhiksha of II Animation delivered welcome Address. Mr.P.Thirunavukarsu delivered presidential address and announced the newly elected Association members (Chairman: Ms.P.Uma, III Animation, Vice Chairman: Mr.B.Sunderaswaran, III Animation, Secretary: Mr.M.R.Nirmal, III Animation, Joint Secretary: Mr.K.D.Suriya Prakash, II Animation, Executives: Mr.G.V.Gokul Ram & Ms. J.Nivetha, II Animation). Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator spoke about setting the Aim & Goal. Mr.P.Kishore Kumar spoke about Alumni contributions and relationship between Seniors & Juniors. Mr.M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim spoke about the importance of Project works. Senior students welcomed their juniors. New members of the association shared their suggestions and feedback about the programme.

A career guidance program for I Animation students were organized by the department of Animation. Mr.Nirmal, HR Manager, 2ADPro company was the guest lecturer. He interacted with students and shared the current updates in the Designing Industry.

Department of Animation, organised the Campus Recruitment Drive for the final year students (Batch 2017-20) on 08.07.2019 & 09.07.2019. A Multi National Company 2ADPro, Chennai conducted the Interview for them. 27 Students were selected. Mr.Nirmal, HR Manager & Mr.Ramesh Dhanasekaran, Head Training Division from the company conducted the Interview. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department, Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator and Faculty members Mr.M.Purusothaman, Mr.P.Kishore Kumar and Mr.M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim made all the arrangements.

Department of Animation conducted Class Committee meeting for the students of II^nd Animation on 28.01.2019 at Animation Academic Lab – 02.The Head of the Department Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu presided over the meeting, All the faculty members and Students of II^nd Animation were the members.

Department of Animation organized Clay Modelling workshop 2019 on 24^th and 25^th January 2019 for the I^nd and II^nd Animation Students. Sculptors & Industrial Experts  Mr.Thisanthan, M.F.A, Mr.Selvam, M.F.A and Mr.Radhakrishnan, M.F.A were the Guest Lecturers. Students taught about clay modelling methods, how to prepare plaster of Paris Mould and Preparing Terracotta.
