Outreach Activity (SLCS Samaaj Seva) – “Ban Plastic Awareness”

Lakshaya, an Association of the Department of MBA, organised an Outreach Activity (SLCS Samaaj Seva) “Ban Plastic Awareness” on 12th March, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Alampatti Village in Maduri District. The event was organised to create awareness about non-degradable plastic waste and its effect on the environment. The students involved in removing the plastic waste in the surrounding place. 27 first year MBA students participated in the activity. Dr. S. Pugalanthi and Dr. D. Abraham Pradeep were the coordinators.

Hospitality Education Network Association Meeting

The (HEN) Hospitality Education Network of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized an Association Meeting on 11.3.22. The meeting was started with a prayer song.  Mr. Micheal.R, II MC&HM, Bakery member of the association welcomed the gathering. Mr.V.Gangadharan, Asst.Professor rendered key note address.  Mr.Prabhu.T, II MC&HM, Secretary of the Association discussed the forthcoming events and extension/outreach activities of the association and selection of new association member from I year students. Besides, he insisted the association members to support and cooperate for the success of the association activities. The program was concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Blesson.R, II Year MC&HM.

ACCENTURE CAMPUS RECRUITMENT TRAINING PROGRAM

The Department of CS organized an Accenture Campus Recruitment Training Programme on the following dates 24.12.2021, 8.1.2022, 26.02.2022 & 11.03.2022, for the III year students at academic lab-2 of our college premises. Mr.K.G.Harshan, Recruiting Analyst, Accenture Pvt.Ltd., was the resource person. The resource person trained the students to get them placed in the Accenture Pvt Ltd. He gave valuable inputs to the students in order to clear the interview process. The students were eagerly participated in the training session. Totally 20 students of III B.Sc CS(SSS) participated in this program.Entirely the session was very useful for the students to build their carrier path. As the output of the session, 2 students were placed in the Accenture Pvt Ltd.

Annual day competition – Connections

Trade club of Our Subbalakshimi Lakshmipathy college of science organised an annual day competition – Connection on 11.03.2022 (Friday). Around 24 students from various department of our college have been participated, customized 8 teams were created among Team 7 (Bhuvana G II ACCA, Snekha II B&I and Janani D U II FSPM) got first place. Mr. S. Ravishankar, Head of the department, Bcom Honours and Mr. Satish Prabhu, Assistant Professor, Department of Fire and safety were played the role of judge for the competition. This activity was organised by Mr. A. Raja, Trade Club Coordinator.

ART FROM WASTE COMPETITION

Art & Media Club, the students of SLCS had an opportunity to participate in the “Art from Waste Competition” in the Animation Classroom – Iheld on 11.03.2022 from 02.00 pm to 03.30 pm.

“BEST OUT OF WASTE” is one such craft which follows this environmental friendly principle and at the same time creates useful and attractive objects out of waste products. Young hands and imaginative minds came together in a creative burst of energy. Mind-blowing, beyond expectation, fantabulous ideas were demonstrated by students. They prepared very creative and innovative models and art items from different waste materials. They used reusable and recyclable materials like newspapers, shoe boxes, bangles, ice cream stick’s and much more. From these items, they created an amazing array of display items and useful everyday objects leaving everyone totally impressed. The values like preservation, recycling, conservation, reduce, reuse etc. are imbibed on the young heart and minds by demonstrating this noble act of caring our environment.

Totally 20 Students from various departments participated in the competition.

Factory Visit to Coffee Research Station, Thandigudi, Kodaikanal

ZEAL, an Association of BBA Department, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized a factory visit to Coffee Research Station, Thandigudi, Kodaikanal on 11.03.2022. The students were elaborated about the various processes related to procurement of coffee beans and the manufacturing of coffee powder. The logistics operations involved in this process were also explained to them. The students had a great learning experience. Totally 59 students comprising of I and II year BBA participated and got benefited through this visit. The students were accompanied by Dr.K.Rajesh Kumar, HoD – BBA & Dr.B.Meenakshi Sundaram, AP – BBA.

Workshop on “OTT & Film Making Techniques”

Medius Coronet, an Association of Visual Communication department, conducted a workshop, “OTT & Film Making Techniques” for its students on 09.03.2022 and 10.03.2022. Totally 25 students (I B.Sc-10, II B.Sc-12, II M.Sc-3) participated in this event. The inaugural session was started at 09:00 am. Mr. Babu Shajan Kevin, HoD i/c & Assistant Professor delivered the welcome address and chief guest introduction. Mr. J. Sabarish, Chief Guest of the day gave a lecture on various topics such as the film language and the process of film making.

Mr. J. Sabarish shared his experience as a film maker and he also shared the process of film making for OTT platforms. The session was very beneficial to the students. They enthusiastically participated in this event and asked technical oriented questions, which were answered by the guest. Ms. G J Anushka of I B.Sc Visual Communication proposed the vote of thanks. The program was a grand success.
