Certificate course on First Aid

A two days certificate course on First Aid was offered to students of II BBA on 29.06.2017 & 06.07.2017 respectively.  Mr.Radhakrishnan, Lecturer – First Aid, St.John Ambulance Sevice, Thirumangalam, Madurai Dt was invited as the resource person. The course covered Principles of First Aid, Structure & Functions of Body, Life Saving Tech

Freshers’ Day Programme

Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science and RL Institute of Management Studies organized the Freshers’ Day Programme on July 1st, 2017 in the college Auditorium. The morning session started at 10.30 am for the departments of Animation, Marine Catering & Hotel Management, Networking, Fire & Industrial Safety and MBA. Afternoon session started by 2.30 pm for the departments Commerce, BBA Logistics & Shipping Management, Computer Science & Security Systems and Visual Communication.

Around 450 students along with their parents participated in the programme. Our Principal Dr.P.Saravanan welcomed the gathering. Mr.C.Manikandan Head Department of Visual Communication elucidated about the College infrastructure. Mr.Rajesh Kumar, Head Department of Logistics & Shipping Management gave details about the College and Mr.K.Archunan, Vice Principal, SLCS explained about the Hostel system. Mrs.N.Anuradha, Head department of Computer Science & Security Systems spoke about the women affairs. The programme ended with the Vote of Thanks by Mr.P,Thirunavukarasu, Head Department of Animation. The students were taken on a Campus Visit by All the Head of the Departments.

MASS DEVELOPMENT OF NEW MEDIA

The department of Visual Communication has conducted a Guest lecture on “The development of New Media”. The program was held on June 28, 2017. Mr.G.K. Anandh Varshan, Program Producer, Radaan Media was the chief guest of the Program. He discussed about structuring a  program, producing  techniques, and the  business behind  the  television industry. Since  the  programs  produced now  is  reaching nook and corner  in  this  world, and  the  viewers  who are  watching  the  program at any time, He has  given  some advices to produce many creative programs to reach the global viewers. The students  and  professors  of  Visual Communication  has  participated  in  this  session.

TECHNOFEST

Department of Computer Science & Department of Information Technology organized an event “Kalaichaaral” for the students of II B.Sc CS, III B.Sc CS, II B.Sc IT & III B.Sc IT on 24/06/2017 from 02.00pm to 03.00pm. The Vice principal Mr.K.Archunan chaired the function.

The objective of the event is to give platform for the students to exhibit their talents. Two teams from IT & CS departments participated in that event. They enacted mime and drama with mimicry. Students from II B.Sc IT & CS presented a mime with the theme “Integrity & Unity among Indians”. Students from III B.Sc IT showed their talent by enacting in a drama. They showed off their mimicry skills also.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.K.S.Sivaprakasam III-CS.

All together this session was useful for the students to reveal their inner talents and gave a chance to have some entertainment.

Training in Laundry and Linen Maintenance

The department of Marine Catering and hotel Management has organized Training in Laundry and Linen for the staff working in the canteen and Mess on 24.06.2017. We explained them on Laundry Management such as General Washing Process, Chemical usage procedure, Linen Maintenance, Maintenance related Safety, etc.

Training on Kitchen Equipment Usage and Storage

The department of Marine Catering and hotel Management has organized Training on Kitchen Equipment Usage and Storage for the staff working in the canteen and Mess staff on 17.06.2017.Our workers should learn the kitchen equipment safety and storage rules that apply to equipment will be using in the kitchen.

Latest scenario of film making – Guest Lecture

The Department of Visual Communication has organized a Guest Lecture on Latest scenario of film making on May 06, 2017. Mr.Adhiroopan, Director of Mupparimanam Tamil movie was the resource person of the program. He has trained our students in ideation to screen, Promotion, Marketing and Distribution methods of current scenario of film production. Role of acting in a film and handling the leading artist in film Production also shared by the guest. The students of B.Sc. Viscom and M.Sc. Viscom Students were participated and benefited.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING ON “HARDWARE AND NETWORKING”

27th & 28th April 2017, Department of Networking organized 2 days Professional Training On “Hardware And Networking” for +2 students. 60 Students were participated from various places like Pondicherry, Salem, Dindigul, Tirunelveli, Theni, Virudhunagar and Madurai.

The Day1 session was started with the prayer song and welcome address given by Ms.M.Janani, II BSC Networking. Our Principal, Dr.R.L.Ramnath Inaugurated the Professional Training Programme with his wonderful speech. Mr.K.Archunan,Vice-Principal given speech about scope of Networking job opportunities. Mr.M.Athigopal, HoD (i/c), Department of Networking gave an introduction about the Programme.

On the first day morning and afternoon session the students of II and III B.Sc Networking were taught with the following concepts, “Introduction to the networking “was handled by M.Kirubaharan, B.Vinoth. “Basics of Network Devices” was handled by M.N.Arunkumar, E.Arunachalam and K.Sarumathi presented a video about “PC Assembling and De-Assembling”. The students were trained with PC Hardware Devices & PC Assembling. The students learnt Assembling & De- Assembling of PC practically & they also participated in the Contest.

On the second day morning Interactive session was handled by Mr. M. Avinash Kannan, Analyst, HCl, Chennai, explained about the Career & Job Opportunities in Networking. The trainer cleared the doubts of their queries. The afternoon session take over by Mr.Nijanthan, CEO, SN IT Solutions, Madurai, demonstrate and explained the working principles of Laptop with Live Laptop troubleshooting demo session for the students.

The participants were taken for a campus tour around the college campus. Certificates were given for the participants. Prizes for PC Assembling and De–Assembling contest and Timeline contest were given for the winners. Vote of thanks was given by Mr.M.Athigopal, HoD (i/c), Department of Networking. The program came to an end with National Anthem

NAUGHTICA 2017

“NAUGHTICA 2017” was held on 14th to 16th April 2017 at Bengaluru, by the Maritime training in India. It’s a largest intercollege fest deliberately for Marine college students. Our department (MHS) 5 students has participated in this programme of National Level cooking competition(Grill and Salad). Nearly around 14 colleges participated. Mr.A.M.Karthick , III year MHS student,battled and won the Gold Medal “NAUGHTICA CHEF 2017” and he received the award from the organizer Maritime Training Institute in India – Bengaluru.

23rd Annual Day

The 23rd Annual Day of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science & RL Institute of Management Studies was celebrated on 25th February 2017 at the College Auditorium in a grand manner. The welcome address was given by the Co-ordinator of the Program,  Mrs.Suganthi Hepzibha, Asst. Professor ,English and the introduction of the Chief Guest was done by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Navarathinam. The Chief Guest of the Function was Mr.K.Velusamy ,General Manager, Canara Bank ,Madurai Circle. Mr.Shanmugam , Deputy Manager , Canara Bank a ccompanied with the chief guest.

Our College President,   Dr.R.Lakshmipathy presided over the function and gave an eloquent presidential address about the College growth & Autonomy. He also insisted the students to learn for better living and to develop their skills & knowledge to achieve their goals. The president wishes all the students in the campus to be gainfully employed with discipline and become responsible citizens of our Nation.

The Chief Guest Mr.K.Velusamy explained about the Canara Bank, which provides many financial services to the customers like Educational Loan, Home Loan, Jewel Loan etc. For a student’s welfare the educational loan facilities are given at a maximum of Rs.7500 Crores. Out of these amount Rs.3600 Crores for Tamilnadu. Without any assurance, the students can avail educational loan of Rs.7.5 lakhs. He also highlighted the MoU signing of Canara Bank with SLCS & RLIMS. He explained about the Career Opportunities in Banking Sector & advised the students to utilize the wonderful facilities available in SLCS & RLIMS.

            Dr.R.L.Ramanth, Principal SLCS presented the Annual report of the college for the Academic Year 2016- 17. Dr.S.Pugalanthi, Deputy Director RLIMS presented the annual report of RLIMS for the year 2016-17.

Prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest to the students for Proficiency in academics, various competitions, best outgoing students for both Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science and RL Institute of Management Studies.

The College Management recognized the faculty members and presented gifts for their exemplary services.
