INFOTAINMENT ’17

The Department of Networking conducted 1stInfotainment Association Meet on 24.07.2017. It was organised by III Year B.Sc NETWORKING students. The session was started with the prayer song. Mr.P.Srinivasan of III B.Sc NETWORKING welcomed the gathering. Our Vice Principal MR.K.Archunan, Inaugurated the meet with his wonderful speech. The Head of the Department MR.M.Athigopal introduced the   Guest of Honour Mr.S.Sekar, Associate Professor- RLIMS . Our Chief Guest delivered wonderful inspirational speech, which motivated the students. He also shared his success story and also interacted with the students. The students cleared their doubts through the interaction.

The students of IInd& IIIrd year B.Sc.Networking has conducted game events for the Ist Year students. The students exposed their talents through various events and got prizes for the events. The vote of thanks was given by M.Janani of II B.Sc Networking and the meet ended with the National Anthem.

Field Visit – National Banana Festival

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Tamil Nadu Agricultural College & Research Institute, Madurai had organized a National Banana Festival from 21.07.2017 to 23.07.2017. Students from I & II year BBA were taken for a field visit on 22.07.2017. Interactive sessions & Guest Lectures with experts, explanations & exhibitions regarding innovative practices in banana cultivation were organized. The exhibition showcased various varieties of bananas. The event also covered some insights on supply chain and logistics in the banana sector. The students had a great learning experience.

Training in Floor Cleaning Equipments

The department of Marine Catering and hotel Management has organized Training in Floor Cleaning Equipment for the staff working in the canteen and Mess on 22.07.2017. We have given training to the workers the cleaning services that more focused some areas like bathrooms, floors and lobbies.

VALUE ADDED COURSE – RHCSA

From 17.07.2017 to 22.07.2017, Department Of Networking has organized Value Added Course on “RHCSA – Redhat Certified System Administrator” for II B.Sc Networking students. The Training was handled by the trainer Mr.V Sarathkumar, Redhat Certified Technical Trainer, Vectra Technosoft Pvt.Ltd, Chennai.17 students got benefitted

Students Motivational Programme

        As part of academic enhancement, Welcome address by Ms.Pradeepa, III year B.Com student, Motivattional speech by Mr. S.P.Balasubramanian, Alumina of our college, 2013-2016 passed out student gave  a motivational speech which inspires the I and II year B.Com(B&I) students .

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION

Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self and to the self. Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy college of Science in association with Young Indian & Confederation of Indian Industry jointly commemorated International Yoga Day on 21st July, 2017.

Mr.Vijaya Darshan Jeevagan Chair in Young Indian Industry Madurai Chapter and Partner in Wallai Restaurants and Caterers gave the Welcome Remarks. He stated that Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.

Dr.P.Saravanan, Principal SLCS delivered the special address that Yoga is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being.

Ms.Racha Binani, Immediate Past Chair in Young Indian Industry Madurai, Teacher in Art of Living and Director of Kidss Talk Pvt. Ltd. explained the theme of the Intenational Yoga Day is Yoga health. The aim is to highlight a holistic approach to yoga, which focuses on both physical and mental well being.

Ms. Alamelu Mangai Teacher from Art of Living performed the asanas in front of the students. All the Faculty members and the students actively participated by doing the asanas. The Intenational Yoga Day was really an eye opening day for the students.

Seminar on “What You Think Is What You Become”

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology conducted seminar on topic “What You Think Is  What You Become” on 21-7-2017 morning.

The event began with a prayer song followed by a welcome address by K.Vignesh III B.Sc CS.           Mrs.N.Anuradha, HOD-CS and Mrs.K.P.Maheswari, HOD-IT gave Felicitation Speech.

Miss. Archana of II B.Sc CS Introduced Chief guest.

The chief guest Mr.Vivek Subburaj, founder & COE, BreakThrough Academy, Madurai, inspired the student through his lecture. He insists everyone to fix a goal and work towards it with full confident.

He too added that the goal will provide us the sense of direction, passion and energy to our life and will make us to complete the tasks within given scheduled time slots.

He said that each and every failure is actually not failures but it gives experiences on what not to be done to achieve success.

He too gave the steps to achieve goal.

Totally 120 students got benefited through this program

Fresher’s day Programme

Freshers Programme for I B.Com  Students was organized by the Department of Commerce on 20.07.2017. The programme commenced with Prayer followed by Welcome Address delivered by Ms. V. Padmavathy – The Head of The Department and the Key note was delivered by Mr.Aruchunan – Vice  Principal of SLCS.   Dr.(Mrs).S.Gurupriya and Ms.B.Shanmugapriya – Asst. Professor conducted the Ice Breaking Session. The Second and Final year Students of the Dept. of Commerce were the organizers for the programme.  The programme ended with Vote of Thanks.

Chennai Cooking Challenge

The “Chennai Cooking Challenge” have organized the National Level Competition and the theme designed as  “Battle of Biryani – 17”. The Programme conducted in IHM, Tharamani- Chennai Campus on 8th July 2017.

Around 200 professional, 100 students and 100 Non – Professionals participated in this grand competition.  Mr. M. Sasikumar & Mr. A.M. Karthick of Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science Battle this competition in student’s category and won the First Prize as Gold Medal.

Training in Food Safety and Hygiene

The department of Marine Catering and hotel Management has organized Training in Food safety and Hygiene for the staff working in the canteen and Mess staff on 08.07.2017. We have provided safe working environment training to the workers make sure to understand the principles of basic food safety and how to apply knowledge to control hazards and prevent food poisoning.
