DP Roy Choudhury Association

On 24th July 2019, DP Roy Choudhury Association in Department of Animation celebrated its 3rd Annual meet. Ms.Subhiksha of II Animation delivered welcome Address. Mr.P.Thirunavukarsu delivered presidential address and announced the newly elected Association members (Chairman: Ms.P.Uma, III Animation, Vice Chairman: Mr.B.Sunderaswaran, III Animation, Secretary: Mr.M.R.Nirmal, III Animation, Joint Secretary: Mr.K.D.Suriya Prakash, II Animation, Executives: Mr.G.V.Gokul Ram & Ms. J.Nivetha, II Animation). Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator spoke about setting the Aim & Goal. Mr.P.Kishore Kumar spoke about Alumni contributions and relationship between Seniors & Juniors. Mr.M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim spoke about the importance of Project works. Senior students welcomed their juniors. New members of the association shared their suggestions and feedback about the programme.

Guest Lecture on “Web Designing using PHP”

On behalf of Department of CS, a guest lecture was organized on 19th, July 2019 for all the students in our department at Seminar Hall in the topic “Web Designing using PHP”. M.Haritha of II B.Sc.CS(SSS) welcomed the gathering. Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, Principal delivered presidential address. Mrs.N.Anuradha, HoD, Dept. Of CS introduced the resource person to the students.

Chief Guest Ms.N.R.Anitha Rani, Academic Head (SSI EDUCATION), Madurai gave introductory knowledge about web designing. She demonstrated a sample program to design a dynamic web page using PHP. Vote of thanks was delivered by M.Muthu Raja, II .B.Sc CS (SSS). Totally 100 students got benefited through this program.

Ice Breaking Session

On behalf of Department of CS an ICE BREAKING SESSION was organized to welcome the freshers on 19th July 2019. The presidential address was delivered by our Principal Dr.B.Ramamoorthy followed by our HOD Mrs.N.Anuradha delivered the felicitation address.

Then the session was continued with the games conducted by II year & III year students to I years. Few students exhibited their talents like dancing and mimicry. At the end of the session, as a green initiative seniors had given plant saplings to all their juniors as a token of memory.

Freshers Day

Freshers Programme for I B.Com(B&I)  Students was organized by the Department of Commerce on 19.07.2019. The programme commenced with Prayer followed by Welcome Address delivered by– Ms.Selvameena of III B.Com(B&I)  and the Key note was delivered by Ms. V. Padmavathy – Head of The Department.   Dr.(Mrs).S.Gurupriya, Ms.B.Shanmugapriya and Mr R.Damotharan – Asst. Professor conducted the Ice Breaking Session.  Second and Final year Students of B.Com(B&I) organized  the programme.  The programme ended with Vote of Thanks.

Hands-on Session for Blog Creation

The II & III year students of Computer Science department Mr.Sivaa, Ms.Monisha, Mr.Suriya and Mr.Nachiyappan, demonstrated the blog creation to I year CS students on 18.07.2019. They taught the students to create their own blogs using blogspot.com and explained the ways to update the blogs.

All I year students created their own blog. The session was very useful for them to develop their technical skills and to earn in online through their blogs. The faculty members Mrs.K.P.Maheswari & Mrs. S.Nirmala Devi guided and encouraged the students.

Infotainment 2019

The Department of Networking conducted Infotainment Meet on 18.07.2019. It was organized by III Year B.Sc NETWORKING students. The session was started with the prayer song followed by welcome gathering Mr B. Baskaran of I B.SC NETWORKING. Our Principal Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, inaugurated the meet and Head of the Department Mr.M.Athigopal addressed the gathering.

The students of IInd &  IIIrd year B.Sc.Networking has conducted various game events for the 1st  Year students and rewarded for the winners. The vote of thanks was given by Ms.Poorna Sundaresan of II B.Sc Networking and the meet ended with the National Anthem.

Career Guidance Program

A career guidance program for I Animation students were organized by the department of Animation. Mr.Nirmal, HR Manager, 2ADPro company was the guest lecturer. He interacted with students and shared the current updates in the Designing Industry.

Extension activity at K.Puliyankulam

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized an extension activity at Government Kallar Higher Secondary School, K.Puliyankulam, Madurai District on 15.07.2019. Students were sensitized on the latest social issues and effective means of tackling it. 116th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister and freedom fighter K.Kamaraj was also celebrated. Students were motivated to participate in various activities like debate, elocution, essay writing, poem writing and skit. Prizes were distributed to the winners. This helped in boosting their self confidence and esteem.

National Conference On Emerging Techniques in Food Processing

The second year students of the Department of Food Science and Processing Management have participated in the National Conference on Emerging Techniques in Food Processing organized by Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology on 27/06/2019 and 28/06/2019 along with Ms. D. Subhashree, Asst. Prof., FSPM. On day one, 27/06/2019 conference commenced with registration followed by various online workshops on recent advancement in food processing by the resource persons from USA, UK. After that there was a Hands-on demonstration and visit to IIFPT facilities such as Computational modeling and nanoscale processing unit, Modern rice mill and Food product development lab, Incubation centre, Food Safety and quality testing lab & Food Biotechnology lab, Food engineering lab, Non-destructive quality evaluation lab, Postharvest pest management lab, Food packaging lab. On day two, 28/06/2019 the conference commenced with the inaugural ceremony by the Hon’ble Minister of Food Processing Industries Mr. Rameshwar Teli. After inaugural ceremony there were invited talks on various topics such as 3D printing of foods, Non thermal Processing of Food, Nanotechnology of Food Systems, Ultrasound Processing, UV applications, Ozone Processing, Pulsed Electric field Processing, Digital Image and Soft X-ray processing, High Pressure Processing, Irradiation of foods, Intelligent Packaging, Block chain Processing in Food Supply chain.

WORKSHOP

The II & III year students of Computer Science (SSS) Department have attended the two days workshop on “Advanced Ethical Hacking”, which was held on 11th and 12th JULY 2019 at M.I.E.T. Engineering College, Trichy. 28 Students and 2 Faculties from our college have attended the workshop. This workshop was conducted by Ozone Cyber Security team. Students and Faculties have gained the knowledge about the system rooting, android rooting, mobile hacking which can be done by automatic or manual rooting. They also learnt about how the wifi works and how the access to the wifi can be denied. And they have also got the awareness of works done by Black Hackers and the ethics of White Hackers.
