Field Visit

As Nature is the best teacher and it offers great lessons to every human being, our Visual communication students chose to visit “Meghamalai” for their photography tour.

Meghamalai – the beautiful hill station Situated in the Western Ghats of Theni District at an Elevation of 1500 m above the sea level. This Place is known for its breath taking views, Tea plantations, Dams and lakes.

Our Students and Staff Members started the Journey at 5:30 AM from the college campus. After finishing breakfast at Theni our Viscomians reached the top of the hill at 10:00 AM with their Camera gears.

Though our Phones lost the signal, we could receive various messages through the Clouds which were passing at a reachable height. Yes! Meghamalai-as its name implies, the clouds were too close to the ground level. Students enjoyed the spectacular views of the hills and valleys with passing clouds, pleasing them.

Our Students started immersing themselves with the Mother Nature. They explored the different viewpoints, lake and a private tea estate. They tried taming the nature by clicking various pictures. Some students were over enthusiastic in taking photographs, they have fired their DSLR as if it was a machine gun, some were waiting for the right moment to click the perfect picture and few were busy taking their own pictures.

Our students also helped some tribal people by presenting the DVD which Contains videos of “Easy English Speaking” and “Letter writing tips” lessons. These video courses were prepared and produced by VISCOM – SLCS students to help the nearby community of our SLCS College.

It is always better to see something once than hear about it thousand times. So our VISCOM students felt it was a great opportunity through this trip to improve their photography skills to gain some experiences.
