Guest Lecture

On behalf of the Department of CS & Networking, a Guest Lecture was organized on 10th, December 2019 for II B.Sc CS (SSS) & II B.Sc Networking students at the Seminar Hall on the topic “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning”. H.Abinaya, II B.Sc.CS(SSS) welcomed the gathering. Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, Principal delivered the presidential address. Mrs.N.Anuradha, HoD, Dept. Of CS delivered the felicitation address and introduced the Chief Guest Mr.Nanu Swamy, Alumni, IIT Madras.

Mrs.Naveena Nanu Swamy, Alumni, IIT Madras delivered the special address.  The Chief Guest delivered the key note address about AI & ML. Mr.Vignesh, CTO, Quantanics Pvt Ltd, Madurai elaborated the importance of AI & ML. V.Aarthi, II .B.Sc Networking delivered the vote of thanks. Totally 58 students got benefited through this program.

CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM ON “SCOPE FOR ROTOSCOPY ARTIST

Our alumni Mr.S.Kalaiappan (2015-18 Batch), VFX Artist, IGENE, Chennai conducted a workshop on “Career Guidance – Scope for Rotoscopy Artist” for our II & III Animation students on 08th November 2019. Mr.P.Kishore Kumar Instructor, Dept. of Animation introduced the guest to the students. Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Mr. M. Purushothamanand  Mr.M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim has done the arrangements. He spoke about the current situation & opportunities in the industry and shared his working experiences with the students.

Training Programme by 2ADPro

Department of Animation, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science & 2ADPro, A Multinational Company from Chennai organised Campus Recruitment Drive for the students of III year B.Sc Animation. Around 30 Students were selected. Mr.Nirmal, HR Manager & Mr.Ramesh Dhanasekaran, Head-Training Division from the company conducted the Interview. A Training programme was organised for the shortlisted candidates for the period of Two Months (August& September) by the company at the College. The Trainers from the Concerned Company Mr. Murali, Ms. Chitra & Ms. Malathy trained the students about their Company`s Structure, Values, Workflow and Procedures. They also arranged student recreation programmes and artistic activities like celebrating Halloween Day, Outbound Training, and Fireless Cooking etc. The students Training program was an experiential learning and very useful to them.

Career Guidance

The Department of CS organized Career Guidance programme on 08.11.2019 for III B.Sc CS(SSS) students at Seminar Hall. Mrs.N.Anuradha, HoD, Dept. of CS introduced our Chief Guest Mr.Sabarinathan Muthu, Executive Manager, Gateway Software Solutions, Coimbatore. Our Principal delivered Presidential address.

The Chief Guest of this session shared his own industry experience and the various job opportunities in IT industry. Also he encouraged the students to choose a particular domain to shine in their career.

TechTalk Event

A TechTalk event for the students of II year, Computer Science Department was conducted on 08, November 2019. Ms. V. Kaarthiyaini of II B.Sc CS(SSS) presented a paper on “ Humanoid Robot”. She shared her experience on developing a humanoid and explained how it works.

Orientation Program

The Department of MC&HM organized an Orientation Programme about the Even Semester on 04.11.2019 for the First and Second Year students. Around 125 students participated in this programme.

The Orientation Program facilitated the transition and integration of students into the college learning environment. Mrs. G.S.Subbulakshmi , Asst Professor gave the welcome speech; Mr.C.Sureshkumar, the HoD and all staff members elucidated the even semester programme to the I year and II year students. Mr. Gangadharan, Asst Professor delivered the Vote of Thanks.

Orientation Program

The Department of CS conducted an Orientation Programme on 04.11.2019 at 08.00 AM in Seminar Hall for the I B.Sc CS(SSS), II B.Sc CS (SSS) & III B.Sc CS students. Our department HoD Mrs.N.Anuradha introduced the subjects that they are going to study during the II & IV semesters. Faculty in-charges of each class were also introduced to the students.

Class representatives for each class were selected and they were advised to do their duty in a sincere manner. M.S.Raagem, II B.Sc CS(SSS) ‘B’ was selected as Secretary and K.Shalini, II B.Sc CS(SSS) ‘A’ was selected as Joint-Secretary for our Department Association for the upcoming semesters.

Career counseling – UG

Department of Visual communication conducted a Career counseling session on 20/10/2019, for the 2nd & 3rd year B.Sc Viscom.

Mr. M.Raghukalidasan is the mentor of 3rd year Viscom students. He counseled the 3rd year students about career opportunities in current media industry.

Mr.Thirumalaisamy, Mentor of 2nd B.Sc Viscom advised the students on choosing their career in the film industry.

Mr.Anbusathiyan, Mentor of 2nd year viscom guided the students on the Job opportunities in the Television industry.

Mr. Arun mozhi varman, Mentor of 2nd M.Sc Viscom encouraged the students to choose the field of Journalism and press media.

Totally 39 students participated in the event. The staff who took the workshop were immensely experienced and professional. The interactions made sure that there was no low point in the session. It gave everyone a clear perspective for the long run. All the factors affecting the choice of the students were addressed and the myths and superstitions regarding the choices were removed to a large extent. They showed presentations and various forms which were and organized and broken down into particular streams. It was very informative and interactive and even quite fun. They quite well managed to persuade the parents to attend their sessions being conducted separately too.

Board of Studies

The Department of Commerce (Honours) conducted the fourth Board of Studies Meeting for B.Com (Honours) students on 19/10/2019 afternoon at SLCS Board Room. Dr. M. Tharani, HoD(i/c) of Commerce (Honours) presented the Syllabus in front of Madurai Kamaraj University Nominee Dr.S.Ganesan, Associate Professor of Commerce, Mannar Thirumalai Nayakar College, Subject Expert Dr. S. Venkateswaran, Associate Professor of Commerce, Mannar Thirumalai Nayakar College,  and Industry Expert CA Solaiappan. Dr. B. Ramamoorty, the Principal along with Dr.R. L. Ramnath,  NAAC Advisor felicitated the  Board of Studies meeting.

Board of Studies Meeting

Department of Animation conducted 13th Board of Studies Meeting on 18th October 2019 (Friday) at the Animation Academic Lab-1 at 10.30AM. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department welcomed the gathering and gave a presentation about the importance of the syllabus. Mr. P. Kishore Kumar explained about the skeleton of the entire syllabus. Mr.Shanmuga Velayudham, Assistant Professor, Department of Visual Communication, Jamal Mohammed College, Trichy and Mr. Arun Subash, Asst. Professor, Department of Visual Communication, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Krishnankovil were invited as the Subject Experts. Mr. Balashyameshwaran, was invited as the Industry Expert and Mr. Keerthi Vasan as the Alumni member. All the members gave their valuable suggestions and recommendations about the syllabus. Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, Principal, Dr.S.Priya, Dean-Academics and Mrs.Suganthi Hepzibha, IQAC Coordinator also attended the meeting. Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, coordinator, Mr.M.Purushothaman, and Mr.M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim were the members of the meeting and they made all the arrangements.
