Alumnus Interaction – Data Center administrator

The Department of Networking organized a Alumni Interaction Online session for the I B.Sc. Networking students on 25th September, 2020. Ms.B.Lakshmipriya, an Alumna spoke about the career path to be pursued and emphasized that students have to choose a career that is closed to their heart. She explained the roles of employees in a professional organization like Database Administrator, Network Administrator, and Data centre Administrator. Students got clarity about choosing a career and also the various opportunities in the Networking field. She urged them to opt for a career with self motivation and interest as this will lead to success and fulfillment of dreams. She further added that students must match their interest and skills with an aptly chosen career. 16 students got benefited by the webinar.

Career Counseling Program on Opportunities in Networking Field

          The Department of Networking organized a Career Counseling Program on Opportunities in Networking Field, for the I B.Sc. Networking students on 25th September, 2020. Awareness about National Education Policy

National Service Scheme (Unit 105) of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science suggested the students to eagerly participate in Shikshakparv on 25th September, 2020 which was conducted by Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. They organized a webinar on “National Education Policy, 2020” to foster conscious awareness among local NSS/NCC/NYKS/UBA Volunteers. Comprehensively, 62 students participated in the programme. Mentor Meeting Report

Department of Networking conducted an Online Mentor Meeting on 25-09-2020 (Friday) at Linux Lab. Mr.V.Deepan Chakkaravarthy; Instructor met his mentees from 11.50 AM to 12.40 PM. During the mentor meeting, students shared their difficulties and grievances.

ALUMNI INTERACTION

A prominent Alumna of Computer Science Department, Ms.R.Shruthi Lakshmi (Batch: 2014 – 2017), Programmer, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Chennai interacted with 48 students of I year CS (SSS) – Batch 2020-23 on 25.09.2020. She explained the Job opportunities available at TCS and the latest technologies implemented in MNCs.

It was an eye opening session for the students. Many upcoming Technologies and its applications were discussed. Ms.R.Shruthi Lakshmi spoke of the importance of Value Added Courses and advised the students to take up Online Courses to enrich their skills. She highlighted the job opportunities available and the demand for such domain experts in the near future.

ALUMNUS INTERACTION

Mr R.Nandhakumar spoke about the requisite skills to become a successful entrepreneur. He said that the line of action should be initiated right from the present day for those with passion in this field. He, also, mentioned the various opportunities available and the rewarding experiences that one can attain in this field.16 Students got benefitted.

He enlightened students about the various security measures to be implemented over a Network. Also insisted about the requisite skills to become a successful entrepreneur. He shared his learning experience at SLCS. He also motivated the students to concentrate on Programming Languages from the first year itself to develop their knowledge in Gaming Technology. The students clarified their queries through this interactive session.

Ltd. interacted with 48 students of I year CS (SSS) students (Batch: 2020-23), through Google Meet. He highlighted the Earn While Learn Program offered by the department and emphasized the technical experience he received through this program. He urged the students to enhance their technical skills by utilizing such opportunities provided by SLCS. The students clarified their queries through this interactive session.
