The School of Animation and Media Studies (SAMS) recently hosted a Career Guidance Program titled “The Art of Motion: Emerging Trends and Career Paths.” The event brought together an esteemed panel of resource persons, including Mr. Praveen Mahimainadhan, Founder – Mystic Media House, Ms. Maria Nancy, CEO – Mystic Media House, and Mr. Maran, Vice President – Mystic Media House, who shared their expertise and insights into the ever-evolving animation and media industry. A total of 58 students (III B.Sc. Animation – 23, II B.Sc. Animation – 32, PG Diploma in Animation Techniques – 3) participated in the session.
The program began with a welcome address delivered by Mr. P. Kishore Kumar, Head cum Assistant Professor of SAMS. In his address, he emphasized the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between academia and industry, encouraging students to leverage the knowledge shared by the resource persons.
The session explored various domains, highlighting emerging trends in animation, motion graphics, and visual storytelling. The speakers delved into the rapidly expanding opportunities in the field, ranging from entertainment and advertising to education and virtual reality. Mr. Praveen Mahimainadhan shared his journey as a founder, focusing on the entrepreneurial aspects and creative processes involved in motion design. Ms. Maria Nancy provided an in-depth perspective on leading an organization in the animation industry, discussing leadership, project management, and client relations. Mr. Maran, with his vast experience, shed light on the role of technology, innovation, and strategic planning in shaping successful careers in motion design. The speakers also emphasized the importance of continuous learning, networking, and staying updated with technological advancements.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. M. Abdul Aziz Hakkim, Assistant Professor of SAMS, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons for their time and insights, and to the organizing team for their efforts in making the program a success.
