CAREER COUNSELING PROGRAMME & WORKSHOP

The Department of Fire & Industrial Safety has organized a Career Counseling cum workshop on 06.08.2019 for Adhyapana CBSE school Students. Mr.I.Vivek Ramkumar HOD; Department of Fire & Industrial Safety clearly explained the future growth of safety and the demand for safety professionals in various fields. He also gave useful tips for the Students regarding the job opportunities for safety in various sectors. Fire Demo was conducted in RLINS ground by the HOD of Fire & Industrial Safety to create awareness among the participants on handling of Safety Equipments. At the end of the program an Interactive session was conducted and the feedback from the Students who participated in the program was good and the program ended with Vote of Thanks.  The School Students Visit is successfully completed with a great positive impact in the minds of the students and the faculty members of the school. We have received an overwhelming Response from the school Students.

Totally 15 students participated and got benefited through this program.

CAREER COUNSELLING ON “JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN IT INDUSTRY”

The Department of Networking organized a Career Counselling Program for the Second and the Third year students on 05.08.2019. Mr.B.Nagakumar, CEO – Devspark, Hyderabad. Shared his experience to the students. Totally 66 Students get benefited from II and III year networking.

The following points were discussed with the students.

  1. Security Fundamentals.
  2. Importance of Scripting Language
  3. Job opportunity in IT & Networking industry.

VALUE ADDED COURSE – CCNA

The Department of Networking conducted  a Value Added Course “Cisco Certified Network Associate Training Programme” for the III BSC Networking students from 29.07.2019 to 03.08.2019. Senior Trainer Mr.Abdu Majeed from Vectra Technosoft Pvt Ltd , Chennai, trained the students.35 students got benefitted.

Workshop on Web Programming

The three days training workshop on “Web Programming using PHP, Mongo DB & NodeJS” took place on 31.07.2019 to 02.08.2019 for II B.Sc CS (SSS) and III B.Sc CS(SSS) students. The resource person of this session Mr.N.Shaliya, Founder, Zerame, Chennai, had given strong knowledge in web programming domain.

Also he trained the students with practical session by giving individual projects in PHP. Through this practical session students came to know the importance of web designing and they got the knowledge of how to design a web page using PHP, Mongo DB & NodeJS. The session came to an end with the various job opportunities in web designing. Totally 52 students got benefited through this program.

Cuentas Association

Cuentas (Department) Association was Inaugurated for this academic year in the  Seminar Hall on 2nd August, 2019, Welcome address was given by Ms.Selvameena of III B.Com(B&I), inaugural address given by Mrs. V.Padmavathy, HOD, also she  announced the Department torch bearers, Ms.Anjana as President, B.Gokulnath as  Vice-president and Ms Vigneshwari  secretary . Finally vote of thanks given by Ms.Vigneshwari of II B.Com(B&I).

Career Guidance Programme

On behalf of Department of CS(SSS) Career Guidance programme was organized on 02.08.2019 for III B.Sc CS(SSS) students at Academic Lab. Mrs.K.P.Maheswari, Assistant Professor, Dept. of CS introduced our Chief Guest Mr. N.Shaliya, Managing Director, Zerame, Chennai.

The Chief Guest of this session, shared his own industry experience and the various job opportunities in IT industry. Also he encouraged the students to choose a particular domain to shine in their career.

Alumnus Interaction

On 02.08.2019 alumnus of Computer Science department, Mr.Suriya Narayanan (Batch: 2016 – 2019) currently working as Software Developer , Zerame Solutions, Chennai interacted with I year CS (SSS) students. He shared his experience and explained about the resource availability and utilization inside SLCS for the student community. He also motivated the students to do many projects and to concentrate much on studies for better living.

Mr. Suriya Narayanan enlighten the students about the opportunities for security systems and its scope in industries and other sectors. The students are well motivated through this session.

Career Counseling Program

The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized a Career Counseling Program for third year students on 02.08.2019. Mr. Shankar, presently working in China as Technical Manager in Chemistry, shared his experience to the students. The following points were discussed with students in that session.

  1. The food habits in China.
  2. Herbs available and usages as food
  3. Job opportunity in the Hotel Industry in China

Extension Activity

From the Department of  Networking, five students and one staff went to CNN Primary School, Koodakovil on 01.08.19

The students assembled and shifted the systems in the new computer laboratory. With the help of Air blower they cleaned the internal component of the system and checked the hardware and software configuration.

Students demonstrated the computer and its functionality. It was a good exposure for the students and also hands on experience for their career growth.

Multi cam production workshop

The department of Visual Communication organized a one day workshop on Multi cam Production on 1st Augest 2019 for III B.Sc VISCOM students. The Executive Producer of Sun TV and alumnus of VISCOM – SLCS MR M. Venkatraman was the Resource person for the Workshop. He gave inputs on the three stages of TV productions. He also demonstrated to student about Multi cam Switching.
