Interactive Career Awareness Programme

Department of Computer Science and Networking jointly organized seminar on Interactive Career Awareness Programme on 23.07.24. Welcome address was given Ms. V. G. Thwisha, III B. Sc CS (SSS). Mr . V. Muralitharan, Program Head, GUVI discussed about various interview techniques and career development skills

  1. Preparation is Key: Research the company and the role you’re applying for. Understand their values, mission, and recent achievements. This knowledge not only helps you tailor your answers but also shows your genuine interest in the company.
  2. Polish Your Resume: Your resume should be concise, clear, and highlight your relevant skills and experiences. Tailor it to each job application to emphasize what makes you a perfect fit.
  3. Practice, Practice, Practice: Rehearse common interview questions and practice your responses. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers and showcase your accomplishments effectively.
  4. Dress and Body Language: Dress professionally and pay attention to your body language. Maintain eye contact, offer a firm handshake, and sit up straight to convey confidence and professionalism.
  5. Ask Intelligent Questions: Prepare thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer about the company culture, team dynamics, and opportunities for growth. This demonstrates your interest and engagement in the role.
  6. Follow-Up: Send a thank-you email or note after the interview to express gratitude for the opportunity and reaffirm your interest in the position.
