In commemoration of World Food Safety Day on June 7th 2024, the Department of Food Science and Processing Management has conducted Interdepartmental competitions on 07.06.2024in our college.World Food Safety Day2024 was celebrated with the theme “Food Safety: prepare for the unexpected”.
This year’s theme,“Prepare for the Unexpected”, underlines the importance of being prepared for food safety incidents, no matter how mild or severe they can be. A food incident can happen, for example, due to accidents, inadequate controls, food fraud or natural events. With that, the students from other departments were encouraged to participate in poster-making completion to inculcate the importance of food safety. Through this event, the students gain knowledge and become aware of using safe foods in their day-to-day lives. Totally 20 students actively participated in this event.
