Crafting Virtual Worlds Trends in Animation and Gaming Careers

The School of Animation and Media Studies (SAMS) recently hosted a Career Guidance Program titled “Crafting Virtual Worlds: Trends in Animation and Gaming Careers.” The event featured prominent industry experts: Mr. Veerendra Patil, Creative Director at Zebu Animation Studios, Mr. Krishna Babu, CG Supervisor at Zebu Animation Studios, and Mr. Dhilip Kumar, Co-founder and CEO of Intelligen Games and Robotics Pvt. Ltd. Their collective expertise offered students a comprehensive view of emerging opportunities in the animation and gaming sectors. A total of 82 students (III B.Sc. Animation – 22, II B.Sc. Animation – 29, I B.Sc. Animation – 21, PG Diploma in Animation Techniques – 2, III B.Sc. Visual Communication – 8) participated in the event.

The program began with a welcome address by Mr. P. Kishore Kumar, Head cum Assistant Professor, who emphasized the transformative potential of animation and gaming technologies. He encouraged students to make the most of the session by gaining valuable insights from the resource persons and applying their knowledge to explore promising career paths in these fast-growing industries.

Each speaker provided unique perspectives on their areas of expertise. Mr. Veerendra Patil discussed the creative aspects of storytelling and world-building in animation, while   Mr. Krishna Babu delved into the technical nuances of computer graphics and production pipelines. Mr. Dhilip Kumar explored the intersection of gaming and robotics, emphasizing the importance of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence in shaping immersive gaming experiences. They also shared actionable advice on building strong portfolios, staying updated with industry trends, and preparing for career opportunities in these competitive fields.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. M. Abdul Aziz Hakkim, Assistant Professor, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons for their time and insights and to the organizing team for their efforts.
