The School of Animation and Media Studies organized a Value Added Course titled “Certification Course on Acting for Animation” from 16th September 2024 to 19th September 2024 at the college premises. The course was led by three distinguished resource persons: Dr. Prabahar Vedhamanickam, Retired Professor from American College, Madurai; Mr. Thirunavukkarasu, Alumnus of the National School of Drama, New Delhi; and Mr. Murugan, Folk and Theatre Artist and Freelance Trainer from Madurai.
The course aimed to enhance their acting skills for animated projects and through practical sessions, students learned how to apply key techniques such as body language, facial expressions, voice modulation, and emotional depth to bring animated characters to life. The course provided invaluable insights into character creation and storytelling, emphasizing the role of acting in enhancing the believability and emotional impact of animation. The hands-on workshops focused on teaching students how to effectively convey emotions and personality through body movement, facial expressions, and voice, improving their overall animation and storytelling skills. The outcome of this course is to master essential acting techniques, enhancing their ability to create expressive and believable animated characters. They developed skills in body language, facial expressions, and voice modulation to elevate their animation storytelling.
