PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ON ROLE OF TEACHERS IN ENHANCING INSTITUTIONAL EXCELLENCE: NEP PRESPECTIVE

Enlightening the teachers towards the NEP perspective with essential skills has become a mandatory one in all the higher education institution. Having this in mind, the IQAC of SLCS has planned and organized a Professional Development Program for the faculty members on the topic “Role of Teachers in Enhancing Institutional Excellence: NEP Perspective” on 23.04.2022.

Dr. J. Aloysius Edward, Dean Professor of MBA Programme from Kirstu Jayanti College, Bengaluru was invited as the Resource Person. Mrs. V. Padmavathy, HoD of  Commerce – Banking & Insurance welcomed the gathering. Dr. R. Sujatha, the Principal delivered the Presidential Address. The IQAC Assistant Coordinator Mrs. R. Suganthi Hepzibha, Asst. Prof of English introduced the Chief Guest in the forum.

Dr. J. Aloysius Edward discussed on the topic “The Role of Teachers in NEP Implementation”. The Resource Person insisted the Faculty Members to take the fullest efforts in implementing the NEP at the earliest. He also guided the members to take initiatives immediately. He also wished and blessed our college to receive A++ Grade so that the College may become a Degree Awarding College. Many Faculty Members clarified their doubts during the interaction session. The program wound up with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. N. Anuradha, HoD, Computer Science department. Totally 53 Faculty Members participated actively and enjoyed the program.

Training Program on “Professional Ethics and Human Values Enshrined in Bhagavad Gita”

A Training Program On The Topic “Professional Ethics and Human Values Enshrined in Bhagavad Gita” was organized by the IQAC of SLCS on 02.04.2022. Dr. S. Priya, the Dean Academics welcomed the gathering. Dr. R. Sujatha, the Principal delivered the Presidential Address.

Mr. Vamsidhari Dasa, Youtuber, BVKS Pravaha was the Chief Guest for the training program. The guest shared about the ethics that should be followed by the professionals and values that one should possess towards humans. He insisted the members to read the Bhagavad Gita to develop the Personality in all the aspects.

As a motivation, all the participants were given Bhagavad Gita at the end of the session. Dr. K. Archunan, the Vice Principal proposed the Vote of Thanks. Totally 70 members (52 faculty members and 18 Non – teaching staff members) have attended the program and got benefitted.

27th Annual Day Celebration

Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science (SLCS) organized 27th Annual Day celebration on 16th March,2022 at our college auditorium  at 2 pm. The program commenced with a prayer song .This was followed by a welcome address given by Dr.S.Priya, Dean-Academics. Dr. R.Sujatha, Principal delivered the felicitation address. Dr.K.Archunan gave a special address elucidating upon the importance of discipline among the students. The Annual Day report was read out by the Principal. The Heads of the Departments distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions conducted throughout the year. The competitions such as Drawing, Photography, Face Painting, Tamil Translation, VaarthaiVilayattu, Aringarai Arivom, Tongue Twister, Poster Making, Brain Games, Mime, Singing (solo), Rangoli, Mehandi were organized through various clubs, and cells of the college. Apart from this, the best outgoing students, Proficiency in academics from various departments and best volunteers representing NSS, RRC and Eco club students’ received prizes for their contributions. The students were honored for clearing their International Certifications through value added courses, organized by various departments. The vote of thanks was given by Shahithya.K, II B.Sc CS (SSS) Chairman of students’ forum. The program came to an end with the National Anthem.

SEMINAR ON ROLE OF MEDIA IN EDUCATION PRESPECTIVE: PROS AND CONS

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science organized a Seminar on “Role of Media in Education Perspective: Pros and Cons” on 10.02.2022. Mr.A.Sunil Ambekar, a social activitist cum Educationist and All India Meida Relationaship Head, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was the Resource Person for the Seminar. He advised, motivated and inspired the students by projecting how good the Media is keeping on supporting the students’ community to enrich themselves in this pandemic situation.

Dr.R.Sujatha, Principal presided the seminar through the Presidential Address. Dr.K.Archunan, Vice Principal and Dr.S.Priya, Dean-Academics delivered the Felicitation address. Mrs.K.P.Maheswari, Assistant Coordinator (IQAC) cum Assistant Professor of Computer Science delivered the Welcome address. Mrs.R.Suganthi Hepzibha, Assistant Coordinator (IQAC) cum Assistant Professor of English introduced the Chief Guest. Ms.M.S.Varshitha, I MBA proposed the Vote of Thanks. Totally 149 students and 21 faculty members participated and got benefitted through the seminar.

INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM ON “INTERCONNECTION OF MULTIDISCIPLINARY FACTS – AN APPROACH”

An International Program on “Interconnection of Multidisciplinary Facts – An Approach” was organised by the IQAC of SLCS 28.01.2022.

Mrs. K. P. Maheswari, Assistant Coordinator (IQAC) cum Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering. Honorable President Dr. R. Lakshmipathy graced the program with his presence. Principal Dr. R. Sujatha, delivered the Presidential Address. Vice Principal Dr. K. Archunan and Dean-Academics Dr. S. Priya delivered the Felicitation Address. Mrs. R. Suganthi Hepzibha, Assistant Coordinator (IQAC) cum Assistant Professor introduced the Resource Person to the Forum.

Mr. Baskar Madasamy, Senior Backend Engineer, Mashreq Bank, Dubai was the Resource Person. The resource person during his session insisted the students about the 10,000 hours concept in order to do things differently instead of doing different things. He also stated to have new ideas which have no formulas to achieve. All the students and faculty members enjoyed the session.

Totally 43 students and 26 faculty members attended the session. Mr. C. Suresh Kumar, HoD MC&HM and Mr. Vivek, I MBA student raised few queries to the resource person and their doubts were clarified with nutshell answer by the resource person. Ms. Padmini, II BBA Logistic & Shipping Management, proposed the Vote of Thanks and Ms. Madhu Bala, II B.Sc., Animation mastered the ceremony.

A ONE DAY ONLINE INTERNATIONAL CAREER INTERACTION PROGRAM on the topic “TAKE YOUR PASSION TO THE NEXT LEVEL”

A One Day Online International Career Interaction Program on the topic “Take Your Passion to the Next Level” on 24.01.2022. The program was organised by Internal Quality Assurance Cell in association with Students’ Forum & Students’ Welfare Committee. Ms. Sudha Vetri, the Founder & CEO of Subscribili was the resource person. Ms. Sahithya, II B.Sc., Computer Science, Chairman of the Students’ Forum welcomed the gathering. Principal Dr. R. Sujatha, delivered the Presidential Address. Vice Principal Dr. K. Archunan and Dean-Academics Dr. S. Priya delivered the Felicitation Address. The IQAC Assistant Coordinator introduced the Resource Person to the Forum. Many students interacted with the resource person by posting their questions how to become a successful Entrepreneur. The resource person answered all the questions through her experience she has faced to reach such a position. All the students were able to clarify their doubts in order to proceed in their career through this program. Totally 60 students from various departments participated in the program. In honouring the resource person, an e-Memento was presented in the program. The IQAC Assistant Coordinator Mrs. R. Suganthi Hepzibha, proposed the Vote of Thanks.

SEMINAR ON “CONSUMER EVASION AND PROTECTION OF RIGHTS

“Consumer Evasion and Protection of Rights” – Seminar was conducted on 28.12.2021 by the NSS and IQAC of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science. Selvan. K.Hariharan, II B.Com (B&I) welcomed the gathering.

Principal Dr. R. Sujatha delivered the Presidential Address by sharing her own experience in protecting our rights in consumer evasion. Vice Principal Dr.K.Archunan and Dean – Academics Dr. S. Priya delivered the Felicitation address.

The technical session was handled by Shri. Srinivasan, Advocate, Madurai High Court, Shri. Govindarajan, District Member, ABGP, Dr. Murali Basker, District Member, ABGP and Shri Kulothunga Maniyan, State Secretary, ABGP. The NSS, RRC, YRC and many interested participated in this session. The resource person shared about the consumer evasion and protection of rights in consuming products, food items and even in medicinal items.

The sessions were really an eye-opener to all the participants. Selvan. N. R. Koushik, II B.Com (B&I) proposed the Vote of Thanks. Many faculty members also participated in the session. Totally 204 students and 6 faculty members attended the session.

STUDENTS INDUCTION PROGRAM

On 23rd September, 2021, Student Induction Program was organized for the first year students of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science. The program is arranged for the students and their parents to familiarize with the institution and make them comfortable. The program was planned and conducted with around 380 members per session.

The program coordinators Mr. P Kishore Kumar, Head i/c cum Assistant Professor of Animation and Dr. D. Abraham Pradeep, Assistant Professor, MBA arranged two sessions by considering the students strength. The various committees of the Program enhanced the comfortability of the parents and the students with the help of the management.

The first session of the day, started with the lighting of the panchamuga lamp by the Principal, Vice Principal, Dean Academics, Chief Guest and a volunteer from Parents side. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. S Priya, Dean Academics, SLCS. Dr. K Archunan, Vice Principal, SLCS, gave his views on Punctuality to the freshers. Mr. P. Kishore Kumar, Head/ Department of Animation introduced the Chief Guest Mr. Baburajan, Program Head- TCS, Chennai. The Chief Guest insisted on the idea of Self Education and its importance. Dr. R Sujatha, Principal, SLCS, presented a detailed presentation about the College and the departments to the gathering. Mrs. R Suganthi Hepzibha, IQAC Assistant Coordinator cum Assistant Professor of English, briefed the rules and regulations of the college. Finally, Dr. D. Abraham Pradeep, Department of MBA proposed the vote of thanks.
