Breaking Boundaries Latest Innovations and Careers in VFX

The School of Animation and Media Studies (SAMS) organized a seminar titled “Breaking Boundaries: Latest Innovations and Careers in VFX.” The event featured Mr. Bejoy Arputharaj, Founder and CEO of Phantom Digital Effects, as the resource person. A total of 57 students (III B.Sc. Animation – 23, II B.Sc. Animation – 32, PG Diploma in Animation Techniques – 2)  participated in the event.

The seminar commenced with a welcome address by Mr. P. Kishore Kumar, Head cum Assistant Professor, who highlighted the importance of visual effects (VFX) as a transformative force in the media and entertainment industry.

During the session, Mr. Bejoy Arputharaj shared his wealth of expertise and experiences in the VFX industry. He discussed the latest innovations in visual effects technology, offering insights into cutting-edge tools, techniques, and workflows used in modern filmmaking and digital production. Drawing from real-world examples and projects, he showcased how VFX pushes the boundaries of creativity and storytelling in film, gaming, and other media platforms.

The seminar also delved into the career opportunities available in the VFX industry, from compositing and 3D modeling to motion capture and virtual production. Mr. Bejoy emphasized the importance of a strong foundation in technical skills, creative thinking, and a proactive approach to learning new technologies. He encouraged students to explore internships, build impressive portfolios, and network with professionals to carve a successful path in the industry.

Mr. M. Abdul Aziz Hakkim, Assistant Professor, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to Mr. Bejoy Arputharaj for sharing his expertise and inspiring the students.
