The School of Animation and Media Studies, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, organized an Industrial Visit to an Audio Lab in Madurai on 12 September 2026 for the II Year Animation, VFX and Game Design students.Totally 21 students visited the lab. The visit was organized to provide students with practical exposure to professional audio production and to help them understand the applications of sound in animation, visual effects, gaming, and other media industries. During the visit, the students were introduced to the functioning of a professional audio laboratory and gained an understanding of various stages of audio production. The students observed the use of professional recording equipment, microphones, audio consoles, monitoring systems, and other studio facilities. They were also introduced to processes such as sound recording, dubbing, voice-over, sound editing, mixing, and post-production. The industry professionals explained the importance of sound in creating an engaging visual experience and discussed how dialogue, background music, sound effects, and ambient sounds are integrated into animation, VFX productions, films, and games. The students also gained insights into the workflow followed by audio professionals and the technical skills required to work in the audio and media industry. The industrial visit was an informative and enriching experience for the students. It enhanced their understanding of professional audio production and strengthened their awareness of the technical and creative requirements of the Animation, VFX and Game Design industries. The visit concluded successfully with active participation from the students and faculty members.
