As part of the departmental initiative to promote commerce awareness and student engagement, the Department of Commerce (Honours & ACCA) inaugurated the Trade Club on 11.07.2026 at S1 and S2 Halls, Subbalakshmi Block. The programme aimed to introduce the objectives and activities of the Trade Club and encourage students to actively participate in its
future initiatives. The faculty members welcomed the students and highlighted the importance of trade and commerce in developing practical knowledge, analytical skills, and professional competence. To make the session interactive, a scrambled commerce words activity was conducted. Students were divided into teams and asked to rearrange scrambled letters into
meaningful commerce-related terms such as Trade, Market, Profit, Cost, Bank, and Money. After each correct answer, a brief explanation of the respective commerce concept was provided, enabling students from different academic backgrounds to understand basic trade-related terminology in an engaging manner. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation, with
students actively collaborating and enjoying the activity. It successfully created awareness about the fundamentals of commerce while promoting teamwork, interaction, and communication skills. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by the faculty coordinator, who appreciated the students active participation and encouraged them to take part in the upcoming Trade Club
activities.
