Celebration of The Yuva Diwas in Shyamalavani

The National Youth Day or The Yuva Diwas was celebrated at Subblakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science on 12 January to commemorate the 158th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Dr.S.Priya, Dean Academics and Ms. Neela, an adhoc faculty of Hindi department addressed the community youth on behalf of SLCS through Shyamalavani 90.4 FM Community Radio. In their address the theme of the year “YUVAAH – Utsah Naye Bharat Ka” was instigated. Swami Vivekananda’s message, “Whatever you think, that you will be. If you think yourselves weak, weak you will be; if you think yourselves strong, strong you will be.” was asked to be felt by the youth of the community.

They also said that Swami Vivekananda believed in youth power and the youth must show their power and strength in bringing about awareness on protecting people and teaching them how to confront themselves from Covid-19 pandemic. Their actions must cross the religious, social and political barriers. Unity and innovation must be the aim of today’s youth and they must have in them a sense to Awake, Arise and stop not till their goal is reached. Totally 2 members participated. People in and around the community got benefitted through the program.
