The Department of B.Com (Honours) – ACCA conducted a Value Added Course on “Financial
Operating Statements: Analysis and Interpretation for Financial Management” from 21.09.2026 to
26.09.2026 at Hall No. S1, Subbalakshmi Block, SLCS, for the III Year B.Com (Hons)–ACCA
students. The sessions were handled by ACCA Akilandeswari R, International Skill Development
Corporation (ISDC), Bangalore. The primary objective of the course was to provide students with in-
depth knowledge and practical exposure to the analysis and interpretation of financial operating
statements for effective financial management and business decision-making. The sessions focused
on developing students’ understanding of financial performance, interpretation of financial
information, and application of financial analysis techniques in practical business situations. The
course aimed to equip students with practical knowledge and analytical skills in understanding
income statements, cash flow statements, cost and revenue analysis, financial performance
indicators, and key financial ratios. The sessions also helped students understand how financial
information can be analysed and interpreted to support managerial decision-making and assess the
financial health and performance of business organisations. The course was highly useful and
provided students with valuable insights into financial statement analysis and financial management
practices. Students actively participated in the sessions and gained practical exposure to analysing
financial information and applying their knowledge in business decision-making.
A total of 23 students actively participated in the programme and benefited from the knowledge,
guidance, and practical insights shared by the resource person.
