The Orientation and Interview Session for selecting students for the Professional Skill Development Program organized by the SHARP Forum, Chamber of Commerce, Madurai was conducted on Thursday, 30 July 2026, for the final-year students. The programme aimed to identify and prepare talented students for industry-focused professional skill development
through a structured training initiative.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Christopher Xavier J., Placement Officer, who greeted the gathering and introduced the resource persons from the SHARP Forum. He highlighted the significance of industry-academia collaboration in enhancing students employability and encouraged the participants to make the best use of the opportunity.
Mrs. Jeshila Francis, Secretary of the SHARP Forum, presented a comprehensive overview of the forum and its various initiatives aimed at developing the professional competencies of students and young professionals. She emphasized the forum commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.
Mr. Venkatesan, Treasurer of the SHARP Forum, explained the objectives of the Professional Skill Development Program and outlined the agenda for the day. He elaborated on the benefits of the programme and encouraged students to participate with confidence and enthusiasm.
The interview process and selection methodology were clearly explained by Mrs. Jeyachandra and Mrs. Jeya Premkumar. They briefed the students on the evaluation criteria and shared useful tips for successfully navigating each stage of the selection process.
The selection process consisted of three stages: an Aptitude Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview. 101 students actively participated in all the rounds, demonstrating their analytical ability, communication skills, teamwork, and confidence.
The SHARP Forum informed the participants that the results of the selection process will be announced during the first week of August 2026. Students who are selected will undergo an intensive 80-hour Professional Skill Development Training at the Chamber of Commerce, Madurai, designed to equip them with the professional competencies required by today’s industry.
The programme concluded successfully with active participation from the students. It served as an excellent platform for exposing them to professional recruitment practices while opening avenues for structured skill enhancement and career development.
