Royal Charter Association of Commerce (Honours) ACCA organized a “Seminar on IFRS for Business Reporting” in commemoration of “International Accounting Day” on 10.11.2022 at Seminar Hall. The program commenced with a prayer song. The association members hosted the program. The Presidential address was delivered by Dr. D.Selvaraj, Head of the Department, Commerce (Honours) ACCA. He informed that, every year on November 10, we celebrate International Accounting Day. The day of honour is declared in 1494 when Italian mathematician, Father of Accounting “Luca Bartolomeo de Pacioli” wrote a book with bookkeeping procedures. The Resource Person, Dr.  G.Venkatesan, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, Sona College of Arts & Science, Salem, briefed on the significance of the celebration and the main objective of IFRS is to develop the public interest of a single set of high quality, understandable and enforceable global accounting standards. It requires high quality, transparent and comparable information in financial statements and other financial reporting to help the participants in the world’s capital markets and other users make economic decisions. Totally, 52 students motivated and benefitted through this program.
