The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in association with the Department of English, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science (SLCS), Madurai, organised a seminar titled “From Research Idea to Quality Publication: A Bird’s Eye View” on 26 September 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at Pallava Hall (F10).
The seminar focused on providing faculty members and research scholars with a broad understanding of the journey from developing a research idea to producing a quality scholarly publication. The programme aimed to create awareness about the essential stages of research and publication and to encourage faculty members, particularly those beginning or pursuing research, to approach academic publishing systematically.
Dr. S. Priya, Associate Professor-cum-Dean, SLCS, and Dr. T. Guru Baskar, Vice Principal, SLCS, graced the occasion as the Chief Guests. Their presence added academic significance to the programme and encouraged the participants to engage actively with research and scholarly communication.
The seminar served as a platform for participants to gain a broader perspective on research ideation, developing research questions, conducting meaningful research, and progressing towards quality publication. It also emphasised the importance of building a sustained research culture within higher education institutions.
The programme concluded with an academic spirit of collaboration and learning, reinforcing the message that a strong research idea, when developed systematically, can evolve into meaningful and quality scholarly work.
