The Department of Computer Science (Data Science & Analytics) and Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) successfully organized a seminar on “Exploring Career Paths in Emerging Technologies” on 31 July 2026, from 11:00 – 1:30 pm at TVR Hall. The seminar aimed to provide students with valuable insights into emerging technologies, career opportunities, industry expectations, and the skills required to succeed in the rapidly evolving IT sector.
The programme commenced with a warm Welcome Address delivered by Reshmi Vandhana L (I B.Sc., CS (DSA)), who welcomed the dignitaries, guest speakers, faculty members, and students. This was followed by the introduction of the Chief Guest, Mr. Harsan K G, an alumnus of B.Sc. Computer Science (2012–2015 batch) and Campus Recruiting – Team Lead at Accenture, Chennai and Mr. Dilip Kumar K K, Founder & CEO, Haso Technology, Madurai by Subramanian S (III B.Sc. CS (DSA)). The first technical session was delivered by Mr. Dilip Kumar K K, who spoke on emerging technologies and career opportunities in the IT industry. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning, technical skills, innovation, and adaptability. He highlighted three key qualities for professional success: a positive attitude, effective communication, and honesty.
He also encouraged students to maintain GitHub and LinkedIn profiles to showcase their projects and achievements. The session concluded with insights from his entrepreneurial journey, inspiring students to build industry-relevant skills and confidently pursue their career goals.
The second session was delivered by Mr. Harsan K G, who focused on recruitment processes, industry expectations, communication skills, aptitude preparation, and professional development. He explained the qualities recruiters look for in candidates and provided valuable guidance on preparing for campus placements, technical interviews, and career
growth in leading IT organizations. His interactive session encouraged students to enhance both their technical competencies and soft skills to improve their employability. At the end of the sessions, mementos were presented to Mr. Harsan K G and Mr. Dilip Kumar K K as tokens of appreciation. A memento was presented to Mr. Harsan K G by Gayathiri Prasad M N (III B.Sc., CS(DSA)) as a token of gratitude and appreciation for his valuable insights and inspiring address.The Head of the Department also presented the honorarium to Mr. Dilip Kumar K K in recognition of his contribution.

The seminar concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Deepin Kumar.M (I B.Sc., CS(AI&ML)), who expressed sincere gratitude to the Management, Principal, Head of the Department, distinguished guest speakers, faculty members, student coordinators, and participants for their support and contribution to the successful conduct of the programme.
A total of 150 students attended the seminar.

The Department of DSA and AI & ML organizes a Seminar on “Exploring Career Paths in Emerging Technologies” to provide students with valuable insights into the rapidly evolving technology landscape. The seminar will serve as an effective industry-academia interaction, enriching students’ understanding of career opportunities in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, Machine Learning (ML), Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and other emerging technologies. The session aims to equip participants with knowledge of future career prospects, industry expectations, and the skills required to excel in the digital era.

The Curriculum Development Cell conducted an awareness program on Generative AI at Subbalakshm Auditorium, Madurai, on July 24, 2026, sponsored by G‑TEC Computer Education.

The session began with an opening briefing by Mr. N. Saravanan, ASO Director (Madurai region), who introduced the importance of websites and platforms for learning, research, and project development.

The technical session was led by Mr. Vignesh Kumar S, Technical Trainer, who spoke on Prompt Engineering, Wide Coding AI Platforms, and Vibe Coding. He also demonstrated AI tools for research and practical methods for building websites and projects.

The sessions were interactive, giving students valuable exposure to cutting‑edge AI tools and creative coding approaches. Faculty and participants appreciated the clarity, practical demonstrations, and inspiring delivery, making the program both informative and impactful.

The Department of Computer Science (AI & ML) celebrated Artificial Intelligence Appreciation Day on 16/07/2026 at TVR Hall. The event was organized with the objective of creating awareness among students about the significance of Artificial Intelligence, its evolution, and its impact on modern society through interactive and engaging activities.

The programme commenced with a Welcome Address, followed by an exciting activity titled “AI Detective: Find the Fake”, where participants identified AI-generated and real images, voices, and text samples. This activity helped students understand the rapid advancements in Generative AI and the importance of distinguishing AI-generated content from authentic content.

A Presentation on the “Evolution of Artificial Intelligence” was delivered by Kisshore T J – III B.Sc CS(DSA), explaining the journey of AI from its early development to the latest advancements in Generative AI. The session highlighted the milestones, real-world applications, and future scope of Artificial Intelligence across various domains.

An interactive game, “Guess the AI Model/Tool,” was conducted by third year students. Participants from first year identified popular AI platforms and tools from their logos. The activity enhanced students’ awareness of widely used AI technologies and their practical applications.

The event also featured an AI Debate on the topic “Will Artificial Intelligence Create More Opportunities Than It Replaces?” Two teams from I B.Sc CS(AI&ML) and           III B.Sc CS(DSA) presented their views supporting and opposing the statement. The debate encouraged critical thinking, effective communication, and a balanced understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with Artificial Intelligence.

 

 

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the Management, Principal, faculty members, and all participants for making the celebration a meaningful and successful event. The programme successfully inspired students to appreciate Artificial Intelligence, understand its responsible use, and explore its future potential in education, industry, and society.

Totally 79 number of students attended the program.
