Alumni Interaction Session (2026–27) on 30.06.2026

As part of the academic and career awareness initiatives, the Department of Commerce (Honours) organized an Alumni Interaction Session for the first and third year students by the CA Nexus Association to provide insights into career opportunities in the commerce and banking sectors. The session commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. D. Selvaraj, Head of the Department, who introduced the guest speaker, Mr. K. Raghubarathi, Branch Manager, Equitas Bank, Pudur Branch, Madurai, and an esteemed alumnus of the 2018–2021 batch. During the session, the alumnus shared his inspiring journey from being a student of the department to becoming a successful banking professional. He highlighted the vast career opportunities available in the banking and financial services sector and explained the diverse career options that Commerce graduates can pursue.

He also guided students on effective preparation strategies for banking recruitment examinations and emphasized the importance of developing communication skills, aptitude, time management, and a habit of continuous learning. Furthermore, he encouraged students to make the best use of their college life by actively participating in academic and co-curricular activities, acquiring industry-relevant skills, and preparing themselves for future career opportunities. The session was highly interactive, with first-year students actively raising questions related to banking careers, competitive examinations, and higher education. Mr. K. Raghubarathi addressed their queries with practical insights and motivated them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to achieving their professional goals. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the faculty coordinator, expressing gratitude to the alumnus for sharing his valuable experiences and inspiring the students. Around 90 students participated in the session, making it an informative, engaging, and motivating learning experience that significantly contributed to the department's student development initiatives.
