50th National Safety Day celebration

The Department of Fire and Industrial Safety celebrated the 50th National Safety Day on (4.3.21). On behalf of the department 50th National Safety badges were distributed to the students .All the students from  Fire and Industrial Safety department,Second year students from the departments of Food science, MC& HM, Animation, Viscom, Networking, Computer Science and BBA participated in the program . It started with Mr. I .Vivek Ramkumar, HoD giving the welcome address. In his address he stressed that Safety is common to all and also very important to all professional courses in our college. The Principal, Dr.R.Sujatha, in her presidential address, emphasized that wearing of masks is mandatory during the covid-19 pandemic but many are not following the rules. She insisted to follow the safety rules and regulations in every aspect of our individual life for sustained development. The Principal took the pledge for the 50th National Safety Day along with the students and staff members. The Dr.R.Priya, Dean –Academics, gave the felicitation address.Mr.P.Navaneetha Krishnan, gave a brief introduction about the chief   guest, Mr.T.Sargunam B.E., D.I.S., who has more than 30 years of experience in the Safety field as Safety Engineer, Safety Consultant and Safety Adviser in various concerns such as NLC, ITC,Sterlite Industries of Vedanta Group and Dalmia Cements. He is a life time member of the National Safety Council. The Chief Guest spoke about the history of National Safety Council and the reasons for celebrating   National Safety Day. He underscored the theme of the National Safety Day 2021, that is, “Sadak Suraksha (Road Safety).”

He shared his   experience on behaviour based accidents in Industries.He, finally shared videos of the various types of  road accidents.The program concluded with Mr A.Jaiveer Kumar, Assistant Professor proposing the vote of thanks.
