The Department of B.Sc. Computer Science (Security System Specialization) organized a workshop on
“OSINT and Digital Investigations” for II & III B.Sc. Computer Science (SSS) students on 28th
August 2026, from 8:50 AM to 1:30 PM. A total of 51 students participated.
The session was handled by Mr. Viswanath Muralitharan, Digital Forensics & Cyber Security
Expert, Vectra Technosoft. The workshop introduced students to Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT),
digital investigation techniques, digital footprints, information gathering, evidence identification,
and verification of publicly available information.
The resource person conducted practical demonstrations on OSINT and digital investigation methods,
helping students understand their application in real-world cybersecurity scenarios. The hands-on
exposure enabled students to connect their academic knowledge with practical aspects of cybersecurity
and digital forensics.
The workshop provided valuable industry exposure and practical knowledge, enhancing students’
awareness and interest in OSINT, digital investigations, cybersecurity, and digital forensics.
